Yesterday it was announced that Kip Gamblin will be playing the title role of The Bodyguard, Frank Farmer, in the Australian tour of the international award-winning hit musical THE BODYGUARD.
The acclaimed dancer and actor is well known to Australian audiences, performing in a range of television dramas including Home and Away, All Saint, Dance Academy and most recently, Neighbours. Gamblin also has an international presence, appearing as a series regular in the BBC London drama, Casualty.
Speaking on behalf of his co-producers, John Frost has said he is “thrilled to welcome Kip Gamblin to his first stage musical role. When he revealed very strong chemistry with Paulini during auditions, we knew we had found our ideal Bodyguard."
Whilst this may be Gamblin’s first musical theatre role, he is no stranger to the stage, having performed principle dance roles with the Australian Ballet, Western Australian Ballet, Sydney Dance Company and Royal Opera Covent Garden.
In celebration of the big announcement, AKA are excited to unveil the show’s new key artwork, which features Gamblin alongside his previously announced cast members, Paulini as Rachel Marron and Prinnie Stevens as Nicki Marron. This superb artwork is the result of a collaboration between AKA Australia and AKA London.
